Grit Salt, otherwise known as rock salt or de icing salt, is a coarse aggregate particularly useful during the winter months and colder weather conditions. Used primarily to manage these conditions, grit salt helps melt ice obstructing roads, pavements or other areas which have subsequently become precarious based on the weather conditions.
It is important to prepare for cold weather to lower the risk of accidents on your premises that are caused by freezing conditions. This can be done by applying a thin layer of our grit salt before cold weather is forecast to arrive. This will then help prevent any ice or snow settling on the ground and ensures you will have to use less of the product to remove any hazards after the hazard has passed.
De-Icing salt is an effective aggregate to help combat treacherous conditions without requiring an extensive amount of man-power to lay the material down. Our rock salt product is incredibly cost effective and can be easily stored for a long time.
We primarily deliver this material to utility companies for spreading on public highways, but we also frequently deliver rock salt to help de-ice construction sites, public footpaths and private properties. We advise our clients to stock up on our aggregate products before the winter months arrive, meaning that you always have a stock available to help avoid any potential delays to your work when the weather arrives. As with all of our aggregates, grit salt can be purchased either in a bulk bag or as a loose material – you can select what is best for you at checkout.
Grit Salt can be used to help clear:
- Construction Sites
