Landscaping Bark otherwise known as garden wood chips, wood bark chips or hardwood mulch, is a dark brown, multi-purpose aggregate ideal for an extensive range of landscaping and gardening applications. Unlike ornamental bark, landscaping bark is a blend of wood chip and ornamental bark which provides a cost-effective alternative.
Ideal for use in domestic sites and larger landscape design, this material contains natural high quality pine bark pieces that have been sourced from sustainable forests. Not only does landscaping bark provide a cost effective way of enhancing the appearance of your garden, it has numerous uses aside from decorative. It can help limit the development of weed, act as insulation protecting your plants during the weather, improve moisture retention and battle soil erosion during rough weather conditions.
- Limit Weed Growth
- Insulation for Plants
- Moisture Retention
- Prevent Soil Erosion
It is important to remember that you should properly weed the area before laying down our bark clippings to a depth of between 60 and 90mm. You can also lay down a fabric membrane on the raked area for extra protection should your garden be particularly prone to weeds. We also advise you to top up fresh bark on the surface of the area in order to maintain the rich colour of the aggregate and its striking appearance.
